What is a Juliet balcony?
Commonplace in the Mediterranean, Juliet balconies got their name from the famous scene in Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet.
Sometimes referred to as a balconette, it’s an architectural term to describe a ‘false’ balcony or railing at the outer pane of a window-opening reaching to the floor, which has the appearance of a balcony when the window is open.
Glass Juliet balconies are an emerging trend
An increasing number of luxury flats and apartments in the UK are being built with Juliet balconies looking out from living spaces or bedrooms.
